Nassau K-8 enrollments in 2015

The 2016 edition of the Official Catholic Directory probably reports information from 2015 or earlier.  This new edition lists twenty-two parish or regional Catholic elementary schools in Nassau County.  The top ten in reported enrollment are:
St. Agnes Cathedral, 728.
St. Anne, Garden City, 540.
St. William the Abbot, Seaford, 538.
St. Aidan, Williston Park, 487.
St. Martin de Porres, Uniondale, 460.
Long Beach Catholic, 440.
St. Rose of Lima, Massapequa Park, 404.
Maria Regina, Seaford, 400.
Holy Family, Hicksville, 397.
Our Lady of Victory, Floral Park, 389.
---
Eighteen schools have more than 300 enrolled.

Only one school, All Saints Regional, Glen Cove, has fewer than 200.

The total K-8 enrollment in Catholic schools is about 8,544.

Founded in 1918, this parish is the oldest of the three parishes on the barrier reef that runs ten miles from Point Lookout on the east to Silver Point on the west.  St. Mary of the Isle sponsors Long Beach Catholic Regional School.

St. Ignatius Martyr, Long Beach

The mailing address of the parish of St. Ignatius Martyr is 721 West Broadway, Long Beach, NY 11561, telephone 516-432-0045.   The parish website, linked here, includes the Mass schedule and an excellent history of the parish.  The church's patron is St. Ignatius, third bishop of Antioch, martyred in Rome about 108 A.D.   He has left us seven letters.

The above view looks east along West Penn Street, with the church steps on the southwest corner of West Penn Street and Grand Boulevard.  The tall building to the right of the church is the rectory, which faces West Broadway.  To the right of the rectory, in the gap and a short block south, is the Long Beach boardwalk, the wide beach, and the Atlantic Ocean.  As the shoreline runs almost east-west, the view of the ocean is south, and the next land is Turks Island in the Caribbean!

Fortunately, the parish has placed a directional sign (with Sunday Mass schedule) on the Long Beach's principal street, Park Avenue, at Grand Boulevard, pointing four blocks south.

Five Towns deanery

In the diocese of Rockville Centre, the Five Towns Deanery includes nine parishes, that is, more of southwest Nassau County than the fabled "Five Towns," Hewlett, Woodmere, Cedarhurst, Lawrence, and Inwood. In order of establishment these parishes are:
1872 - St. Joseph, Hewlett.  The April 13, 2011, Long Island Catholic includes an important article, "Five Towns parishes to enter new era for collaboration."  The bishop announced plans for the pastor of St. Joseph parish to become in the future also the administrator of St. Joachim and Our Lady of Good Counsel.  Three parishes will remain, but the priest(s) will live in one.  The article did not tell the number of Catholics enrolled in each parish.  None of the three has a school. 
1894 - St. Joachim, Cedarhurst
1909 - St. Raymond of Penyafort, East Rockaway

1915 - St. Mary of the Isle, Long Beach

1927 - St. Anthony, Oceanside

The above nine parishes comprise the Five Towns deanery, which has two Catholic elementary schools.  St. Raymond's has a parish school, and the three parishes of Long Beach and Point Lookout sponsor Long Beach Catholic Regional School at St. Ignatius Martyr.
